The Aroostook Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (ACORP) aims to reduce the morbidity and mortality of substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD), by improving the capacity and infrastructure for prevention, treatment, and recovery services in northern, central, and southern Aroostook County. Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate education to improve family members’, caregivers’, and the public’s understanding of evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery strategies for SUD/OUD and reduce the stigma associated with the disease.
As a result of HRSA RCORP Planning IIII and Implementation III grant awards, ACORP is a local consortium that has been meeting since 2020. The Share Facts Save Lives website and media campaign is one outcome of the group's efforts to support substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts in Aroostook County.
